Yes I'm new... quick, abuse the new kid!

Anywho, back on track.
My old mixer (£40... what was i thinking?) is starting to die now. The up faders are dieing and so on.
So I'm after a new one. Heres the requirements:
- Must have atleast 4 channels (2 CDJs and 2 Record Decks)
- Must be around £270 (less is always good ¬_¬)
- God I love lists!

I have been looking about, and I can get the Stanton RM404 or the M505 for roughly £270 (plus P&P). I've yet to find any reviews tho? I thought this'd be the best place to ask

looks like your going for something along the lower-end...for i think $299usd you can get the Vestax VMC-004XL which is absolutely superb in quality, make, sound and everything. its 4 channels, 3-band eq with complete kill and basically great for the price. thats my recommendation, on the other hand since its your second one and maybe your looking for a more serious mixer i highly recommend that you be willing to dish out more money and get something like the djm800...my personal opinion ofcourse.

Or you could try the DJM 400, around 450.00, which, with the flip of a switch, can handle two cdjs and two TT's and will last you a long time. A little more for a guarenteed long life.

I checked out both of those mixers, and The vestax looks good... even cheaper than what I was after (Good start :P). But the djm-400 is just a bit too expensive. No doubt its a great mixer, just I'm not really ready to spend that amount on a mixer just yet.

try the reloop RMX 40 BPM or RMX 40 DSP (sameas teh bpm version but with some effects on it). @ www.new-line.nl, they have a good price for the RMX 40 BPM (230 euro's i believe). its 4 channel, with bpm, kill switches, vu meters, etc ... judge it yourself and lemme know if you liked my suggestion

Can't speak for the ReLoop RMX40 (& it got a reasonable write up on decks.co.uk) but a friend of mine once had a ReLoop Effex 2 which was truly awful - he soon sold it. Try before you buy

The DJM 400 should be in your price range if you buy it from the U.S.

Import taxes are usually a bitch though


That vestax seems to be a popular choice, I don't think I've heard anyone say a bad word about it.

neither have i, although some people dont care for the cue system...i think people who complain about that are mostly elitists its fine

Hmmm... Never realized that would be an issue. I don't know that I've ever paid a significant import tax on anything I've purhased from the UK, but perhaps I was just too naive to realize it was included in the final price...

Usually they make you pay import taxes when it arrives in the country... so you got lucky! But it also depends on the item. Some things are taxed, some arent and some get by customs.

I know if I order DJ gear that wasnt manufactured in North America from an American, Mexican or some Central American site, I'd get charged import tax. If it was manufacutred in North America, I wouldn't.

If I ordered monitors made in china to from a US store, I'd get like 15% slapped on.

sorry i have to say this, but this is so 'American'. just as what happened to the steel industry a few years ago. anyway, no room for discussion here i think. that vestax mixer looks kinda cool i must say.

what's the advantage btw of rotary faders in stead of lineair faders? just curious cuz' some vestax have rotaries .. and i always wondered whats the diff. does it has better sound/performance/longer lifetime?
