those using self powered spearkers...

I want to see the setups of those who are using self powered speakers and are also hooking their mixer up to a computer to record mixes.

On my setup..I have two krk rp5's hooked up to my vestax vmc-002 using rca cables. This is an unbalanced connection according to the manual.

If I am mixing, without the computer connected to the mixer, then everything is fine.

However, if I am mixing and my computer is also connected to my record out on my mixer, whilst my monitors are connected to the main out on the mixer, then i get rediuculous feedback noise.

I have solved this feedback by using a radio shack ground loop isolator.

But...I am wondering if I upgrade to a mixer that has TRS (balanced) outputs on it for my self powered speakers, if it would solve my feeback problem while connected to the computer.

This way I could do away with the ghetto ground loop isolator from radio shack.

Good point... I have a xone92:rotary and use a pair of mackie srm450's on the xlr's and the rca record outs to my PC. No problems and excellent sound quality.

is there a two channel mixer out there with xlr outputs that COSTS LESS than a grand? Ya I thought the xlr might work because looking at the diagram of the three pins..it says that one of the pins is for grounding.
