most motherboards can do it now. Just press Del when you turn the computer on to get to bios, and there should be a PC health (directory ?) you can check it there

my laptop has been getting really hot lately after 2 hours of use where I had to shut it down and turn air condition to cool it off. It's kind of worrying, I am afraid it may be battery with the recent recall news and all.
