CDJ-1000s and temperature (quick question)

Quick question, this is probably me being totally paranoid:

Will my CDJ-1000s and EFX-1000 be bothered by spending a night in the trunk of my car? The temperature tonight is supposed to get down to around 50~

if you leave it in your car, be sure to gradually bring the temperature up slowly or you might get condensation inside it and ruin everything.

or just bring it inside and not take a chance

Why on earth would you leave it in your car? That's just asking for problems - I'm sure someone else would be happy to take it home.

Thats thousands of dollars down the drain....

Haha I don't DJ parties yet, but if I did....I would most likely just use a laptop or buy some inexpensive set up. If your going to use CDJ 1000s (MK1, MK2, MK3) for a home set up...and I do...it's your best bet to either keep them at home..in a safe place. If you have to take them somewhere, be so careful with them it's not even funny. It's like taking a $500,000 or more Lamborghini off-roading...aint gonna do it! So leaving them in a car? Ain't gonna do it!!

Isnt taking equipment to parties more like racing with your expensive car? Dangerous but if you know what your doing you can greatly reduce the risks?
Dont forget things like racing insurance
I sometimes get people to sign small contracts

I wasn't taking them to a party, I took them down to a radio studio to do a radio set. I am currently at a friends house to celebrate his birthday. Going home to drop them off wasn't a reasonable option since it's an hour one way. They are safe in the trunk right now.

I asked two friends (one of whom is the sound tech at a club, the other is a certified gear nerd), and both are telling me that there shouldn't be a problem. It's raining right now anyways, no sense in carrying them across the yard in the rain...

I'm not worried about theft, just temperature (and to a lesser extent, humidity, but it's not like i'm going to take them inside and turn them on right away). I think they should be fine. If you think about it, all of your gear survives a trip in an airplane and/or truck across the country as it's shipped to you anyways. Hell, I got my second CDJ in January shipped ground cross-country, I'm sure it spent a few freezing nights out there, but it works just fine.

Btw, I do take very very good care of my stuff. They are currently wrapped in garbage backs and padded with towels so avoid any sliding around in the trunk (I only keep them in the truck so that no one can see them through the windows, thus no risk of theft).

Yeah but you should be hella careful with either. I mean say you have an expensive car...your driving down a highway and all of a sudden you loose control...get it banged up. I personally, wouldn't mind if a CDJ 200 or even a CDJ 800 got banged up a little, but I prefer to baby my CDJ 1000s, like someone would do with an expensive sports car. But I guess I'm just someone who doesn't have a whole lot of money, and invesed a lot in my set up from saving my money...I even fear sometimes it'll just get damaged at my house from playing it..i'm that worried about em sometimes.

Do you have or plan on having kids?

I understand your point of view though.
