can you explain?
i mean, i have no problem shelling out 60 bucks for something that will save me hundreds of hours of work... i spent 3 hours today trying to find the keys to some of the tracks in my library.. i'm a bussy guy and my time is very valuable... i could be doing better things w/ my time
how is it overrated?
can you reccomend something else?

its overated because its not accurate enough to justify a $50 pricetag. um, check the harmonics thread for other software. i think theres mixmeister which is free (and arguably more accurate). id recommend that, but at the end of the day nothing can beat your ears

Rapid Evolution 2
free from mixshare.com
Its the most accurate of all the key detection programs. I use this and then double check with my ears

can you two tell the key of a song just by listening to it? i thought only betoven could do that lol... it seems like all of you guys can! i figured like 1 out of every 1000 people could listen to a song and tell its key ~ what's the secret? piano lessons as a child, paying attention to the key of songs for years, or what?
i am gonna check out that software thanx

rapid evolution 2 looks badass... do people use it to mix? i'll probably just use it to plan sets and know track information (bpm, key, comments, etc).

what he said. though if it sounds like another one of your tunes sometimes you already know. but always confirm with the keyboard

quick question guys, im just trying rapid evolution out as a test, im short on time so wanted to see how good it is, but i cant work out how do you go about batch processing all songs at once? ive searched everywhere, guessing im being dumb here, but anybody know? ive read the manual, but no hope, its taking ages doing each tune separate. im using osx btw, thanks for your help,
