Plain and simple, this fucking SUCKS.
the fan broke off and put a hole in the radiator, yeah I got a proud leak now. But forget that, the problem is that the way they build this car is they shoved the whole fan and radiator so far into the front bumper that in order to change the fan and the radiator they need to take off:
-the whole front bumper
-the whole headlight assembly
-and disengage the airbag thingie

got a quote for $800 bucks 'cause the labor alone is 2 freakin' hours.

How many of you think this is bullshit.

do it yourself. the hardest part is disengaging the airbag which is easy a cheese.

Two hours of labor, shouldn't cost any more than $200. In that case, how can a single radiator cost around $600??? What car is this for? I smell BS.

This sounds like dealership costs. I'd go to a regular mechanic, or do it myself.

radiator shouldnt ever be more than $200 from an auto parts store. and what kind of car is this? fan almost in the bumper? sounds a big odd since thats where the bumper support goes along with the radiator support and what not.

That's the thing, the mechanic that always did work on my car doesn't have that computer that you would need to disengage the airbag, only a deal can do that.

Roughly $200 for labor including a brand new asshole for me, plus 70 for the thing that the fan spins on, 90 for the fucking fan and under 200 for a radiator, I'm trying to figure out where the other 300 is coming from.

I ain't spending that money, FUCK THAT. I'm almost done paying it off, another week to go and I'm done, if anything I'll worry about it after I get all my equipment.

Extended warranties save lives. I'm glad I got one, for my car.

do it yourself. The thing you will need the most you can get from any snap-on tool dealer. A radiator hose pick. It may be 15-30 dollars but it is WORTH IT in terms of making the do it yourself job tons easier.

you dont have a wrench set and a socket set? go to sears and get a small set of craftsman. $100 and you can do it all yourself. you dont need the computer to disengage the airbag. disconnect the battery and then disconnect the impact sensor. easy as pie. cant blow an airbag that doesnt have power. you will need to take it to the dealer though to get the SRS computer reset if you happen to accidently connect the battery BEFORE you reconnect the impact sensor.
