I know not a lot about that stuff you mention, but what I do know is that the 100s aren't nearly as good as the 200s.

Get the 200s, they will keep you a lot happier than the 100s.

dont question, just trust the advice u are given.

geminis are dirt cheap and are poorly built for the most part. pioneer is the way to go.

Like it has been said time and time again, you get what you pay for.

Gemini make cheap stuff that is marketed and someone about to start DJing on a budget. The low price *usually* reflects the quality of the product, and 6 months down the line when the CD players shit the bed you're going to have to fork out for some more. By this point, you'll probably want to look into upgrading your setup anyway, so those Pioneers might have seemed like a good idea all along...

Also another big advantage of buying higher quality DJ stuff is the resale value. If you find out that DJing isn't for you after all and you decide to sell your gear, you won't even get half of what you paid for those Gemini things. Buy some Pioneer CD players and you'll have people queueing up trying to buy them off you.

It may seem like a big leap spending all that money on something that you've never tried before, but if you buy cheap shit in the first place it will cost you more in the long run.

I own a few Gemini Mixers. One is older than a lot of guys on this board.

For what it's worth, they work fine if you are talking less than $100.00

If you are willing to spend $100.00 and up, look elsewhere.

Gemini's market is more towards the "broke DJ" so, mechanically speaking, their equipment tends to break faster than other brands costing much more.

The most I've ever spent on a Gemini Mixer was $150.00, and it was because it was a Rotary, and Rotaries range in the $1000+ range.

If you can save more, invest in something that will last longer in your growing years of DJing. The only reason my oldest Gemini lasted so long is because I wasn't ruff on it, and, they made their mixers stronger then, than they do today.

Not saying that they were better then. But, if you compare a Gemini Mixer then, to a Gemini today in terms of identical features, the old one wins for durability.

If you can save more, it would be your best bet.

yeah get the cdj200's... i know of people who use them with the djm800 which is a $1300 mixer!!! putting the cdj200's next to the djm800 says a lot...

imo, you should just get the cdj200's and save for a new mixer

how much are you looking to spend

there's one club here in my town which uses a 4 Channel american dj mixer...actually it feels quite solid...and looks sexy...I can't guarantee how long it will last...but actually I would get that and CDJ 200s

just for the 200s if you can't save more...


also...this mixer will last you for some time I hope...and later you can upgrade...


as I said, no guarantees here, I just played on it once and it felt good for a cheapo mixer
