okay so far from the prototype i released to some lucky people they lost their marbles over it...


im gonna do a full foto shoot for it n all (cheese but itll make it more profsional)

sooo let me tell you the story of how it came about before u listen.

okay...


as some of you may have known i went through a dissastrous break up with teh x ' love of my life '

and this break up spilled so much emotion out of me that i didnt know where to place this negative energy from. so i gathered some tracks and i expressed my feelings through this canvas i call prgrsve with a trance influence.

one dark late november night i sat in my room upsessing about this bs. so i decied to do something productive rather then to hit some one. cuss some one out or bite some oens head off.
i grab my jbls out of my studio i grab my technics and a friend of mines cdjs and my djm 3000 mixer. i compile the darkest, most melodic , deeeepest, most emotional, hair pulling, ear grabbing, scream at the top of your lungs kind of grooves... and rhytms i could find. and the first disc of ocean in the sky 2 was the product.

when making a cd i always beleived it should be dual disk. one for the ride home and one dancefloor rocking set. so the ride home cd is the one where i spilt most emotion on (dancefloor cd is not out yet or made)

so its raining and its thundering and im mixing. the best feel to mix off of is not being substanced it should come from a pain an emotion so deep that it can impact and describe the heart ache i felt through sound. (cheesy but the emotion isnt)

1. aeon flux - lost in the ether (ambimix)
2. subsphere - first light
3. medway - ressurection (delicate imposters rmx)
4. leon bolier feat elsa hill - no need to come back
5. cassino and laben - memories (sedric snak rmx) < talented rmxer but the cd skips cos it was scratched up but im gonna fix that on the full release)
6. probspot - heatsink
7. luminary - dark eyes (gift rmx)
8. nova - maybe tommorow (nova rmx)
9. ofra haza feat. lisa gerrard - love song (m.i.k.e. rmx)
10. 1 am - moon ball ( alex monakhov rmx) ( i made a special edit of this song and at the time i couldnt find it. so its a crapy mix(imo) but i will fix it on the full release)
11. leon bolier - my precious.


i showed some people this mix and they just felt theres a level ppl feel from a dark moment in their life but they arent avid trance addicts like you guys. i wanna c what you guys honestly feel after listening to this mix. i just did parts of the foto shoot since its raining and it fits the aura perfectly. but i wanna see what you guys honestly think.


go ahead and bash me for running off a break up anger and all this but i can honestly say i like the ' painting ' i finished. i was scared to release it... but im going to accept the insults n criticisms ( if they happen to come. somthing i always prepare myself for) if they come my way. negative energy leads to more productive things n a drive to prove people other wise.

so ! im going to pass out cds (prototype) at my show for when i play @ the rabbit in the moon event in houston. im one of the very few prgsve trance djs in houston. so i just wanna keep it at a level of respect. a listening will speak louder than any words i can tell you.

ANyone who does I would bash in return for being a shallow individual. Music IS emotion and more often than not for the true artists, its the emotion of a given situation that inspires us to be creative. I'll definitely give a listen.

That remix of Medway - Ressurrection is FUCKING ACE. Love that song in every version I've ever heard. I'm not too familiar with the tracklist aside from that, know some of the artists, because I've been away from Trance and off in the land of Techno for a while. But I'd love to check it out, you've played good the times I've seen you.

not meaning to hijack, you just brought it to mind: is the Houston NYE show a full-out RITM show, with props and costumes and art galleries and everything that normally goes along with their real shows? Or is it just DJ Monk by himself being promoted as RITM, as happened last time?

As far as I've heard its gonna be a preformance. Wthe whole ritm ppl should be there. Its not just gonna b dj monk.
