Wet Grooves began in 2000 as a small pool party at the Shelborne Beach Resort in Miami Beach for the Winter Music Conference, one of among 300 parties of the week. The essence of the pool party was to bring World Class DJ talent to a pool environment full of beautiful people, and the best party vibe in all of South Beach. The locals mixed with those from around the world to create an atmosphere that has grown to be, seven years later, the undisputed #1, wildest and most talked about, daytime party of all events during this music conference week.

“Friday, Wet Grooves at Nikki Beach was set to be one of the highlights of the week. When I arrived, the warm Miami sun was shining on a few hundred people, some on the trademark "beach beds," some dancing anywhere there was room, some crowded around the DJ booth.
Benny Benassi looked like he was having the time of his life behind the decks, and that carried over into everyone around him. Dropping a remix of AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long" really got us going. Benny teased a lot, using quite a few tricks on the Pioneer CDJ get our attention, and keep us wanting more. Nikki Beach's famous Mojitos were definitely assisting in a smooth transition from sunlight to dusk.
Soon after, the party moved inside, to host BT. Sundown was in process, and the air was eager. The room had reached capacity, not counting all the beautiful girls dancing on the bar and any other ledge they could find. Opening up with his classic super-twisted breakbeat sound, it didn't take long before BT had all the hands in the place pumping with his. “Our first party was at a South Beach institution, Nikki Beach, for the annual Wet Grooves Beach Party. If you have never been before, Nikki Beach is an absolute must. Half the club is on the sand, and the other is an open faced bamboo adorned room. With two separate areas for DJ's to rip, plus the appropriate decor, this place is simply amazing. Combine that will the notoriously debaucherous event known as Wet Grooves, and you have an absolute gem. With the palms trees standing over us like giants from a foreign land, we listened to the incomparable talents of Mark Farina and Harry Choo Choo Romero with beers in hands. The beats came solid and loud, and before too long we had expended the afternoon to the talents of Benny Benassi, Little Louie Vega, BT and even the Utah Saints. The sun began to slip behind the horizon, and it’s barely past the first afternoon for us which in itself means we have much more to go. for AXE to sponsor The World Party’s Wet Grooves
poolside party during the 2005 Winter Music Conference
in Miami this past March. Hosted by renowned promoters
Spiritworld and Mixology in association with FHM, the
event featured a fierce line-up of DJ headliners,
including Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules, Christopher
Lawrence, Robbie Rivera and Interstate (a.k.a. Mark
Lewis), plus many more. With non-stop music,
bottomless drinks and sexy, entertaining AXE girls
handing out free AXE samples, the party raged from

“OMFG! That was one of the best parties of the week…even with the downpour! We walked almost all the way there in the rain, by the time we got a cab it was too late. We were soaked to the bone! Once we got inside the place was jamming... of course beautiful people everywhere! Saw them all at Wet Grooves on Thursday. Had a blast. Danced all day long. Some very nice house music all day long. Fortuntately, the rain didn't hurt the party...but the the popo sure did. Dancin' in the rain with my friends and new friends was a blast. Killer tunes, really cool people, free monster energy drinks all made for a great day. We got there at about 1:30pm and stayed until eddie came on. The sound just wasn't the same once the volume was turned down. I felt really bad for Glaude because it was hard to even hear his tracks and all he wanted was for everyone to dance and have a good time.
