Cubase SX books - Power! & Ignite! - Questions

Anyone know the difference between Cubase SX power and Cubase SX Ignite books? Is one supposed to be read before the other? I want to get them.

Thank you!

I've heard of both, never managed to have a look at neither.
Think they cover the same things, just in a different way.
There is also a DVD from ASK Video if I remember well that'll get you up and running on Cubase.
I still think that just goofing around with it and occasionally referencing the manual will get you a long way. You'll eventually discover other things as you go along.
Good luck!

Yeah. I know enough about it to get a song done. I was just hoping to find something like a Cubase 'Bible' of sorts. I'd like to know all the tips and tricks, secrets, shortcuts and the hows and whys of it all... That's just the way I am. I have to know everything. LOL.

The ASK Video tutorials are great. Get those if you can afford them.

I've heard that the books you're talking about are rather good too, but I've never actually read them.

Ignite has a lot of pics, but the explanations aren't as detailed as cubase power. Plus they do not cover everything. Cubase Power has more info. For a bigginer Ignite is good, for someone more advenced Cubase power is the way to go. I've got both, got it as a gift. But if I was new to cubase I would get the Ignite first, and than the other one, or just skip it and get the cubase video series. the 1-3, it's pretty good as well.. That's if you like watching videos

read the cubase manual, far more informative
seems like the other two ripped it off and simplified :S

Isn't that the point though?

Manuals are full of info but all structured the same and not really designed to be read from start to finish.

yep...
i learned english through Pimp's Quick and Easy
my friend; 20 common words a day, speaking, reading, writing in the language
it's obvious who came out on top
the moral of this story is, quick and easy won't hurt, but using the actuall dictionary (manual), having your way with the software writing music, listening to what's being done is far more helpful, even for beginners

Yea but that depends on the person. Some people like to get straight to the point, and others like to learn absolutely everything which takes time, but saves them some trouble in the long run
