I mixed this on my CDJ-1000mk2s and a DJM-800 earlier tonight. It reminded me what a good opening set might sound like.(depending on who was to follow of course). I remember hearing such great, deep, brooding music in opening sets at the Avalon in LA, which perfectly fit the club's darker lighting and atmosphere. (pictured above) This is a condensed version of a 3 hour opening set, 9pm-12am in that space...
I havn't posted a CDJ mix since April last year, and at this point, I've been mixing on decks for just over a year. No planning went into this whatsoever, other than with the goal of trying to achieve a smooth build, with some of the latest tracks I have picked up. I hope you guys like it.
I will add that I really dont like the EQ on the DJM-800...coming from the Xone, it just feels different, and this was only the 4th time I've used this mixer.

Having started on a Xone:62, I've never liked the DJM. It's a great piece of equipment for something like Trance, but it's shite (in my opinion) when it comes to something as precise as spinning Tech House, Progressive House, Minimal or whathaveyou. I've used it five or six times, and the only time I've enjoyed it was when I had the urge to spin Hard Techno.
Downloading now.

Is it just me, or does it ADD highs...when you drop in the bass? You might hear this in the recording...its very slight...but its very anoying to get your levels right on it.
