1. Car-pool lane? The 1st time $1068.50 starting 1/1/07 (Not $271, posted on the highway is old).
Don't do it again because the 2nd time is going to be double.
The 3rd time triple and the 4th time license suspended.
2. Incorrect lane change $380. Don't cross lane on solid lanes or intersection.
3. Block intersection $485
4. Driving on the shoulder $450
5. Cell phone on the construction zone - Double fine
6. Passengers over 18 not on the seatbelts - both passengers and driver get tickets.
7. Speeders can only drive 3 miles above the limit.
- A classmate drove 71 MPH on 65 mph zone and got ticket.

thanks for the heads up, especially that seatbelt one. i do think its ridiculous that everyone gets a ticket for someone not wearing a seatbelt. either way if that ever happens in my car, the person not wearing the seatbelt is paying for mine too.
someone was also telling me there was some dui law that if everyone in the car is drunk and the driver gets a dui, so do the passengers. is that true? i mean how can you get a dui if you arent driving?

steep fines are the only way to get people to stop breaking the rules. Thats why there are similar HUGE fines in nevada for speeding in school zones. INSANE fines.

Umm, the cell phone law doesn't even go into effect until like mid-2009. So how can fines be double now?
I smell hogwash.
Source please.

FYI, the measure goes into effect in July 2008, imposing a minimum $20 fine for anyone caught driving and using a cell phone unless the driver uses a headset, ear bud or other technology that frees both hands.
But I agree. All of these fines seem too outrageous...

5. Cell phone on the construction zone - Double fine
I know that if you are getting pulled over and you're in a construction zone, the fine is doubled. What does a cell phone have to do with the construction zone? Cause some kind of interference?
Oh and I can hardly wait til they do start citing those chit-chatting on their cells while driving!!! Freakin people holding a phone to their ear, BSing while driving, and not paying attention to anything around them! GRR$RRR...........
