vestax pmc 55 - anyone know?

I own a Vestax PCV275 which has been great but I need at least another fader and miss not having a crossfader curve control.

I have a friend who is thinking of selling his pmc 55 but having not used one myself, it woult be good if some ta's could help!

can anone help shed some light on these:

1, does it have a voltage switch to select between 110v and 240v (us and uk)?
2, why was it discontinued?
3, when was it last manufactured?
4, are there any cons or known issues with this mixer?
5, how does it compare (build quality, s/n ratio, punch etc) to other top line vestax models especially it's replacement, the PMC 500?

This is an extra channel version of the Vestax PMC37Pro to my knowledge. I remember this being ridiculously expensive at one point or another.

Ah wait. Just found it. It's selling currently for more than the Xone 92 haha.

http://www.djsuperstore.co.uk/=froogle/item/dj-mixers/281938-vestax-pmc-55-mixer-%C2%A31095.00

For that price it must be doing something right. I know the PMC37 Was an amazing mixer.

Sorry I can't be any more help. But if you can get this for cheap. Go for it.

The range of EQ. has been expanded from +/- 16 dB to +6/-24 dB. This powerful EQ. allows DJ's to control the music more precisely and actively. An additional cue on/off LED indicator is provided on each input channel. Source for booth monitor output can be selected from Master A, B and cue source. This allows DJ's to monitor required source through monitor speakers. Pre/post selectable AUX send switch is provided on each input channel for various effect possibilities. The maximum gain of the trim and EQ. can be limited by using internal switches. This feature prevents the PMC 55 from being overdriven by amateur DJ's. The output level can be selected from either -20 or -10dB to avoid overdriving the amplifier. A high specification VCA (voltage controlled amplifier), is utilized in the crossfade system. This minimizes noise and wear from the mechanical parts of the crossfader. Additionally, the crossfader 'curve' can be easily adjusted on the front panel for changes in mixing styles. At one extreme is the long running mix and at the other is the Scratch or Cut mix. Each of the input channels will accept one stereo phono and two stereo line sources, these are instantly switchable giving a massive twelve input capability. Each input channel has a trim control for setting the input levels. A level display, balance control and three band EQ. are also provided on each channel. The separate Mic input section has its own EQ. One stereo line input of each channel can be connected via the front panel for quick and easy access. this is particularly useful for "visiting" DAT recorders etc. Specifications: Inputs: phono x 4, line x 8, Mic x 3. Outputs: Master XLR balanced (0dBV) x 2, ¼’ unbalanced (-10dBV) x 2, booth out ¼’ unbalanced (-10dB) x 1 Dimensions: w x h x d: 330 x 90 x 400mm Weight: 8.5kg Crossfader: CF-50
