most of them are useless unless they were made to make a specific sound..i tried many the only way you could make most of them work is by putting tons of fx on them which just kills cpu for no reason..i ended up buying 3-4 grand worth of software goodies and i still don't regret it..best investment that i've done with my money so far..
but then again there are a handfull of them out there that are usefull

You must not have tried instruments like Synth1. I've gotten truly incredible sounds out of it that only require a bit of delay and EQ.
Synth1 is a better nord lead clone than DiscoDSP Discovery, and that costs money.
Whilst we are on free, awesome synths, rgc:audio Triangle II is a better than many virtual analogue synths that cost $$$, both software and hardware. Unlike quite a few VAs, it actually sounds and behaves a bit like an analogue synth. Whoa.

Check out the crystal VST, it's excellent too.

I just wish it were polyphonic. :\ It still works for effects and stuff.

sure i can but people put a lot of time and effort in creating those softwares, so my 200-600/software is worth it. if you're truly serious about music, you'll appreciate things that u can use to produce rather than download warez

after a while you'll realize downloading software’s for free is stupid..sure anybody could download shit from the internet but people worked hard to make those sounds available to you, plus you won’t realize how valuable these softwares/sounds are unless you buy them..then you’ll try to make the best out of them....its the same as downloading songs instead of purchasing them..
