Hey all this is a little off topic but there's many software-knowledgable musicians in this forum so I thought I'd ask.
I'm just learning how to play the guitar and can't tune by ear. Anybody have trustworthy software that you can tune your guitar with? There are some free ones but I've read some are packed with adware. Please advise on what you have if any. Thanks a mil!

This one is free, haven't heard anything about adware though
I really do suggest you learn to tune by ear because if you don't do it now, you never will. Get the learning out of the way and save the chromatic tuners for when you need pitch perfect recordings.

My apologies for bringing back up an older topic but I never had a chance to thank you djyouth for recommending the guitar.sk software.
Just downloaded this and if anybody is looking for guitar tuning software, www.guitar.sk is free, and so far no adware/spyware etc.

use a keyboard?
tune the bass E string to E and the rest of them using the 5th fret method (apart from the b string)
