Not realistic at all, yes. Only the first minute was ok. Nothing will survive this radiation attack except a few organisms deep in the oceans. These will die as well because the burnt world releases millions of tons of sulphuric acid and these will kill all sea organisms within one year after the impact.

After that the earth gets dark because of all the dust floating around through the atmosphere. This complete darkness (you can't see anything, its completely dark) will last for several thousands of years. Because the sun does no longer reach thee surface of earth it starts to become extremely cold, the whole earth surface drops below the freezing point of water. An ice world, that's the next stage. After roughly 10000 years, the dust will have settled down, the sun will become visible again and it gets warmer again. And if still someone could live on earth he would probably see a second moon in the skies.

So, what happens then? Nobody knows.
