Hasn't the scene become cheap enough, I mean digital music took over and now those 10-12 USD vinlys are nearly a 600% mark up compared to digital music for download. . . So this leaves room for more people to get into the scene while playing cheap music. . . thats right cheap music.
At any rate I agree with you that one solid mix, even if it is just an annual thing, is better than multiple releases unless you are mixing live 
past that I'm downloading now and listening when I get ot the library or something
