Shadow Lounge Reunion @ Tottem Gardens/UltraLounge 2-24-07 review + pics
1999. A year which many will call the "golden age of trance." Anthems, melodic, vocal, monster tunes from a time long past.
Thanksgiving Eve 2005. An idea was brought up to bring back the days and tunes of yesteryear, which resulted in a highly successful night at Space.
February 2007. The idea is brought once again, only to another club in downtown Miami, this one being the Tottem Gardens/UltraLounge, which was formerly the Ice Palace and a film studio.
More memories and history were made.
Edgar V and George Acosta brought the old days back to Miami once again in a long, memorable night in THE most posh nightclub I have ever laud eyes on, inside and outside. Several video screens showed pictures of the original Shadow Lounge and its guest DJs, including BT, Sasha and many, many more. Awesome setting for nostalgia.
The night started out with a surprisingly good turnout early, and later it got packed. Nothing but massive, melodic, energetic tunes from the old days delivered by South Florida's best in the main room. WIll post the tracks I IDd later.
Outside in the garden, my bud Eddie G went renegade and played prog trance/trance where it should have been nothing but house sets.
PWN.
There was a LOT of energy, crowd interaction and everything you could want (including some DAMN hot women) last night.
Quite frankly, I got drunk out of my mind on THREE long island teas and had an absolute GREAT time, and so did everyone else, from what I saw. Great seeing a lot of familiar faces, and a big special thanks goes to Ambs, for if it weren't for her, I would have missed out on the Reunion gig for a second consecutive time. Leaving Eddie G at his home to come back to Weston, he asked me to let you all know his gratitude for everyone coming out.
This was def. a great night and anyone who didn't go missed out. Hopefully there will be another show like this. It is defintely
FOR THE WIN.
Took pics with Eddie G's camera, will upload them later on today, but now it's time for me to crash.
DAMN good night.
