weird crackling sound

I recently did some replacing and stuff in my pc, +fresh install of xp etc.

everytime i move the mouse (chordless usb) my left speaker starts to crackle.. ive checked that the soundcard is properly in place, all screws and shit are tightened..
its also sometimes when the computer does "hard" tasks.. such as opening a new prog etc..

has anybody had similar problems?

oh and yeah, soundcard is the audiophile 192..

thnx for any replies

Are you sure it's not a cell phone? Most likely it's the mouse. Try a wired one. If that doesn't work, try putting the soundcard in a different mobo slot.

i'll try.. but to me, it sounds like the sound has shifted from the speaker and over to the monitor. its a 2 month old lcd widescreen monitor.. oh yeah, its also 26" if u wondered ehehe

nah,its a 20" but its sweeter than my tv so i dont care..

anyways, ill try to shift some pci cards around and shit when the geeb has left my system...

i learned that fixing computers under the influence is not a smart thing to do.. picture yourself someone tripping balls on shrooms changing a gfx card.. thats why i had to buy a new hd++++ :P

it could many things - try moving your equipment around to find your sweet spot....I just finished setting up my new gear and such and was having same issues. I still have a few crackles that need to be sorted.....perhaps some crossed wires????

Have you gone into the BIOS and disabled on-board, seeing as your using a soundcard?

Wireless signals can do this weird stuff sometimes. My cell phone actually interferes with any nearby speakers when it's active (even if the speakers are turned off!). I've had the thing check its e-mail during conferences at the office and the damn thing starts beeping through the conference phone. Car stereos, alarm clocks, phones, intercoms, nothing is safe.

Now, this is usually cell phones and high-power devices, I haven't heard of it happening with a mouse, but I suggest you at least try it with a regular corded USB mouse, plugged into the same port as your wireless one currently is, and see if it still happens. If it goes away with a corded mouse, then it's the wireless. If not, at least you've eliminated the possibility of R/F interference.

The mouse I have been using before this crash without any problems, so I don't think that's the problem.

The whole story is not needed :insert blushing smiley:

check what sound driver is being used would be my first guess of things to look into might also want to try as suggest a differnt pci slot if its a pci card especially if its next to an agp slot. also might want to try and see if its all speakers or not if its all speakers make sure they dont show any physical damage might also check if your mouse required drivers that they are installed right or try a differnt usb port.

He told us what he did - he started tripping balls and tried to fix his computer while he was high. I doubt he remembers much more detail than that.
