FIFA's world cup "rotation policy"

Sepp Blatter has said he wants the FIFA world cup rotation to continue, this would mean 2018 WC would ideally be in the Americas (if N.American is counted seperate to S.America) and then 2022 in Asia.

I think this is an absolute fucking joke, Europe is the heart of football, its where almost all internationals players are based. For Europe to wait 16 years is a piss take.

2018 should see the WC come back to Europe, and preferably England. I hope the 2010 WC is a disaster in S.Africa to show it needs developed countires hosting such a major event.

I agree it's mental I say let the country who put's in the best pitch host the world cup providing it's devloped enough stadium wise and facilities wise.

Countries who can barely keep order on the streets that suffer appaling crime rates and have severe social problems cannot host such tournaments.

For the record Sepp Blatters always been a cretinous idiot.

Gotta hate Blatter and his 'brilliant' ideas.

The rotation isn't necessarily wrong - Europe shouldn't have the cup all the time, and giving a chance to Africa was fair. That being said, I think a system of "there can't be 2 consecutive cups in the same continent" or, say, a 3-way rotation between "Europe", "the Americas" and "the rest of the world" would've been better than a 5 or 6-way rotation between all confederations.

why is it a joke i think its a good idea. The whole idea behind this was to give countrys that never had it the world cup try and devlop football in those countrys its daft to just try and say that football is a european sport and no one else deserves it.

I personally don't think there is anything wrong with rotation policy, in fact i think it's necessary, everyone deserves a shot at hosting it.

you can see plenty of football in europe any time. half the fun of going to a major event would surely be the travel to a new and different place. and if you are not going who really cares where it is, you'll see it just the same on tv.
I know I'd much rather go to see the cricket world cup in the west indies than go to the same stadiums I could every summer at home.

SA is only 1-2 hours time difference from england anyway.

what are the long lasting effects of the world cup in germany? a couple of new stadiums in places that already had decent facilities?
What will be the effect of the world cup in SA? massive new infrastrucutre and on-going tourism benefits to a part of the world that will really benefit from it.

WC 94 kick started MLS and brought a level of awareness and interest for football in Yankland.

WC 02 opened the rest of the world to Asian football and how much it doesn't really suck.

I can only see benefits for WC2010. Well, if South Africa actually manages to host it. (and their national team kinda sucks)
