Was thinkin about gettin one (CDJ 1000 MK3) but wanted to know from peoples experiences, is it worth splashin out on cause theres a pretty big difference in price!

What all can the CDJ-1000MK3 do that the CDJ-800 can't?

The CDJ1000mk3 had got the WAVE display which displays the playing track in a way so that you can see the breakdowns coming up etc (like looking at the grooves on vinyl). Sounds like a gimmick, but believe me, you'll be looking at it all the time.

It has 3 Hot Cues where you can store up to 3 different cue points per cd. Also has an SD card so you can store 1000's of cue points and loops in total.

Adjustable platter - from very loose to quite stiff.

Better build quality.

Erm... can't think of anything else at the mo...

Sounds like its the whole works!

Is it much different to the CDJ-800 cause I already have one and wonder if it will be tough mixing between the two?

No it would be fine as you can always adjust the platter sensitivity on the 1000 to match the platter on your 800. Other than there's no difference apart from the extra features on the 1000.

So there's not really any major differences other than a few extra features here and there, doesnt sound like its worth forkin out a few extra hundred for it!!

Well is there any cool tricks you can do with the 1000 that cant be done with the 800?

You can do some cool things with the 3 Hot Cues, but that's purely down to your own creativity really.

But the extra features on the 1000 are very handy, and just make mixing that much more of a pleasure. I've got the 1000's and my mates have got the 800's and everytime they use my decks they comment on how much nicer they are to use and how they hold the mix for much longer than their 800's.

This is because the 1000's have got a more accurate pitch range or something.

I was wondering.. about how much should you set this adjustment so it can match with the sensitivity of a 800 ?
couple of months ago I had a gig where I had to play with a 1000 and a 800. I had a pretty rough time joging with the 1000 cause it was to sensitive.

Turn the sensitivity knob all the way to left and you should get about similar feel to 800s. (I personally prefer about half way)

I just love the wave display. Use that a lot to gauge when to mix in the next track. Helps a lot doing some 3 decks techno.

Depends, do you mean sensitive as in it felt very loose or as in your adjustments felt very sensitive?

You can only adjust the feel of the platter - not sure if it actually adjust the sensitivity of your adjustment as well (if you know what I mean).

Awh decisions are tough...Defo gonna be pushin to get the CDJ-1000 now but its gonna leave me as broke as my old turtle action figures

Fuck it sure i'll just splash out and pimp my body out if I need some extra cash lol!

It really depends on what sort of tunes you're going to play.
If you're still just learning and aren't doing anything really fancy technique wise, stick with 800 mk2s.

If you're going to do mad looping and crazy mashups and all that (or plan to in the future) go for 1000s.

The thing is, if you're anything like me, if you get the 800's you'll be constantly wondering if you made the right decision.

So, if you get the 1000's at least you know that you couldn't get any better. A weird logic I know, but it helps
