My first time at the Palace was for Love Festival Tour (the rave), and the stage was that small and THAT much more fun! I miss it myself!

I can usually agree, but I've been to some phenominal parties where the DJ was set back on a stage surrounded by lighting. That can be fuckin cool too.
I happened to be looking at Ibiza clubs the other night and Amnesia is like that. checkout some youtube vids

well come on, that's ibiza: the land of escapism. the hype surrounding that place alone makes the party. everyone there is on vacation, tore the fuck up and spent a shittonne of money to be where they are so the party is gonna be phenomenal no matter where the dj booth is.

avalon la is a far cry from amnesia ibiza and lowering the dj platform would be one of the best things avalon can do to improve things. i doubt it will happen though since they use that stage for other special events. same with ruby skye :\

But... but if the DJ booth gets lowered and to close to the people, Tiesto (and who knows what other DJs) might not want to play there either in the future.

well it's not that big of a deal to modify the current stage to have a collapsable relief up front to raise up for the divas and other events

I have been to Ruby Skye when they have the booth down at floor level and its MUCH better IMO, up on a stage is way to impersonal. 1015's dj booth is THE best around-right at the perfect level not too low not too high.
