The decline of sites like Match.com probably correlates well with the rise of sites like MySpace and Facebook. Instead of joining pure "dating sites," which still carry a certain stigma, people use more general sites for the same purpose.

Just a conjecture.

I'd have to intervene at this juncture and remark on flaw of aforementioned assertions. Quite contrary I think holds true, upon closer scrutiny. I read today that Johnny Depp is playing the lead character in Thompson's "The Rum Diary" to be released in 2008. From Wikipedia

A film is in production based upon Thompson's novel The Rum Diary. It is scheduled for a 2008 release, starring Johnny Depp. Bruce Robinson is directing.
