wtf cubase

so ever since ive been using cubase, i've been able to record an audio part. And then if i were to simply change the tempo of the whole track it would automatically stretch all those audio files down to the right size.

for instance, if i had a bunch of 4 bar loops, when i change the tempo, they would still be 4 bar loops...they would just play faster.

now whenever i change the tempo of the whole track, the audio parts just stay their same size. so that they are all overlapping eachother now, or they are all out of time.

what the hell happened? when i go back to my old projects i can still change the tempo and have the parts stretch accordingly. I still have tempo fixed turned on in my new projects and everything, so whats the problem?

I dont really see the problem.. just keep it at one tempo to begin with.

There's a little button that will switch an audio track from being time-based or musical based.

Go to the overview inspector for your track, and make sure the button looks like a little quarter note. If it looks like a little clock, then your audio won't stretch accordingly.

Also, check your prefereces. Wish I could describe it better, but I don't have cubase open in front of me.

is this possible in Cubase 2 ?

I don't tend to use loops ever but it would still be nice to know. I also lost my original box and manual! I'm so clumsy!

Yeah, Listen to mystical ninja

Hit control + p, then select under the Audio folder the track you want and give it an original tempo. You'll see a little X box marked.

Then go back and change the tempo in your sequencer to whatever
