It's Free??? Not that I would gripe about a free show, but who in the world would put on a free show. I think it's great that they would do that. But to not have any type of revenue coming in is strange to me.
As for the rave types, your second option is what usually occurs in most Texas rave scenes. So I stay away from that.
Since you weren't trying to be angry I will slap Dave's mom extra hard tonight.

OH DEAR
I didn't intend that as angrily as it apparently was taken. Personally I think there's a distinction bewteen types of raves. You've got Massives, which I generally can't stand. There are raves where the majority of people only go because they want to take drugs, and care very little about the music itself. And lastly, you have raves where people go for the music and the party, and whatever drugs you do are enhancement and not the entire purpose. The first 2 categories aren't my thing, but the last one is. And every time I've seen Bassnectar, whether in a club or in a more underground setting, it's been more like the last.
All I'm saying is, if you're not busy I'd suggest checking it out. You literally could not have an event like this in SF because the venue would be at capacity within 5 minutes of opening unless it were held somewhere truly huge, and even then it would probably fill. As far as what music he plays, I strongly dislike hip hop and jungle and drum & bass, but I have loved the music every time I've heard Bassnectar play here in SF. It could be somewhat hit or miss on the music, but it's free so you don't get hurt by finding out. |
