I read this as "panda" for some reason, so I suggest you pack one of those just to be on the safe side.
unless you plan on going to havana, credit cards are useless in the country.
also, ALWAYS count your money on the spot when you exchange it, the tellers always want to screw you for a couple of pesos, it happened to me the three times i exchanged money, but thankfully i was warned about that scam.
also, buy your stuff (cigars, rhum) at the airport when leaving, its the only place that was legit with prices clearly indicated on each item.
some stuff to give away, clothes/hygiene products/school supplies
bug spray, the mozzies bite

also, what power supply do they use???
should i bring a power adapter???
i'm staying at palma real if that matters.
reason i ask is cause last year my friends plugged a stereo into the wall and shorted it out.

depending on where you are, I'd suggest bringing a bit of snack food.
I was there last month and brought a box of meal replacement bars...smartest move ever. lunch and dinner were quite spaced out and there wasn't a ton of readily available food (nevermind healthy food) in the resort area outside of those times.
if you're going to travel into any towns/villages, you can hit the dollar/bargain stores here and bring a wack of stuff with you for the kids (school supplies, cheap clothes, shoes, etc) because most are dirt poor and appreciate stuff like that. any travel reviews always seem to say the same thing...to bring stuff for the kids if you venture into town from the resort.
you may need a power adapter, depending on your items:
