If you mean the rich's houston website...I have downloaded those mixes but that's a newer style, newer stuff. I haven't heard any old Beat songs on those mixes (since January), but if I missed out earlier I'd definitely like to know.

oh cool...which ones? (do you know?)
From about April 2000, I used minidiscs to record the entire broadcast (aka the first 4 hours). The next week I would just record over the previous week's broadcast (in an effort to save space at the time). However, I managed to think of saving ONE of them- from June- to cassette. One of the tapes did get ruined in one spot (meaning the music is interrupted in two spots). I did get it back onto minidisc and transferred it to the computer. I managed to get the mix into one MP3 file (sweet). I was hoping maybe someone else did the same, but oh well...at least I have the technology to transfer material on LPs and tapes to mp3 quickly...

For those of you with mad nostalgia for the good ol' days (like me), here's a 27 minute excerpt mp3 I created from the June 23, 2000 broadcast of the Beat on KRBE. Sorry for the below-average quality as it went through many sources, including cassette tape.

If there is enough interest I can upload the entire program (I taped the first 4 or so hours or so of the broadcast before I went to bed that night). This is the only one I have as well. I wish I could have done this for more broadcasts, but this was the only time I actually had some tapes laying about doing nothing. (Buying more tapes wasn't really an option for me, for complex reasons.)

I certainly will if I have some more time (and if there is additional interest). I'm also hoping that if anyone else has some recordings from the program that they'll upload what they've got as well.

oh yeah, I'd definitely love to hear it if you can get it out...
Is it one of those "side-loading" mechanism decks like the ones that used to be in cars? Or is it a front-loading deck? Damn, I remember having to fix those things all the time. It got old really fast...
I could probably tell you how it could possibly come out but I would need to know what kind of insertion mechanism it has.
