my gig

I played first time in bigger club on xone 92 and it wasnt that easy to get used to it. First I couldnt figure how to cue 2 tracks at once and guy who played before couldnt help me, because he didnt know (he had ableton live preformance).

The next thing were CDJs. I'm used to my Pioneer cdj 800 mk2, but those 800s in club seemed like much less sensitive than mine. When I move jog on my cds its totally different ratio. Moving jog (platter) on my cds for 2cms seemed like I had to move it for 1/4.

Thank god, after 20 minutes I got quite used to it..

Anyone has similar experience?

Re: my gig

When you a playing out (especially the first few times), even the smallest things will throw you off. Blame it on the nerves!

P.S. To cue 2 or more channels on the 92, uncue, press the channels you want to cue at the same time

P.P.S. The jog of the 800-MK2 was updated to be more in line with the 1000, you were probably on MK1's?

No, both 800s were MK2s. But feeling wasnt the same.

It could be the difference between home and club use. I've experienced it before. Heck, even my 2 800 mk2s, both at home, have different feels on the jog wheels.

The Jogwheels probably feel different because they are used a lot more by many other people at clubs, for different reasons. If you mostly mix, your jogwheel probably wont get as much of a work out as it would if you were to scratch on it constantly, like a TT's platter.

VERY VERY VERY True. I remember when I used to get stage freight. Back then all we had was 1200's. So everytime I picked up the needle, I was so nervous, my hands would shake A LOT!

yeah, but only after you've un-cued all channels why you need to do this on the xones is beyond me!

i hate the queing system on the xone's. that's my only gripe with the higher end A&H's.

i remember playing basketball my first time out too

i still get butterflies before a big gig, by the time i get behind the decks they're gone though

i like to get to the venue at the very least a half hour before my set, i like to take my time getting ready, get my cases out, have a couple drinks

then i usually go off by myself and get real quiet (almost serious looking i've been told), take in the crowd, get a feel for what the vibe is and collect my thoughts, think about some key tracks i'd like to play, probably have another drink or 2

then by the time i get onstage i'm always ready to go and rock it out

i'll have to remember to record my set next time

I don't understand what the issue is TBH. You just select which channel you want to cue and then use the cue/mix knob - easy!

I've heard that the xone62 is a bit trickier as it hasn't got a cue/mix knob but the 92 has.
