I like the bass sound [Not bassline] from freefrom five no more convos alot, I can get close but never enough bottom end.
This one should be easy..Id like to be able to make it with the subtractor.

Wipe yer arse, then try the following...

Start with a subtractor, Set osc 1 as a saw, and osc 2 as a sine an octave lower. Open the filter 98% with a hint of resonance with no envelope mod.

Patch the subtractor through the scream4, set the mode to Tape. Adjust the speed knob to 90% and the compression to 50% and feel the warm bottom end.

You may need to tweak the mix between the oscillators on the subtractor in favour of the saw, and maybe set the polyphony to 1 (monophonic).

Have fun!

The scream 4...

See the list of things that the two black knobs at the bottom can turn into? They become speed/compression controls when the unit is in Tape mode (turn the big knob so that it points to Tape).

I know. The subtractor sounds somewhat cold and harsh by today's standards, that Tape distortion really helps add some warmth and relaxes the harshness. I use it all the time

Cool tut Aquila. I use FL Studio 7 and was wondering if there was a VST similar to Scream 4, which I could use within the FL environment, to warm up things a little.

I assume you are talking about the PSP Vintage Warmer. In that case, is there any way to get around the latency it introduces so that i can use it on individual tracks? I love the sound of it and often put it on my master channel, but i dont always want it to affect everything. If there was some way to put it on a single track, but still have everything play together that would be awesome.

Use one instance of PSP Vintage Warmer on several audio tracks, you mean?

I don't use too many vst's to be honest but PSP's Vintage Warmer that DJAnthonyRos mentioned is good, but I've only ever used it in mastering so I can't really tell if it has any latency issues.

However a while back I stumbled upon a cute little free tube preamp emulator by Musicrow which seems to add considerable warmth to sounds. Have a look at it [[ LINK REMOVED ]]

i only have problems using vintage warmer on my external synths, messes up the latency.. but on vsti synths and audio it works fine.
