if so how do you work it with ableton, can you set up like 3 or 4 profiles? one as normal with 2 faders and 2 pitch faders etc, and another just using is for effecs (example using the volume faders as wet/dry on a flanger and filter)
i've heard each control can only be mapped to one thing (so the volume fader can only be a volume fader) but i wanted to set up a series of profiles in ableton for different things (one for recordng a set, one for messing with effects, one for dropping samples etc)
also one more thing, if you set ableton to record and draw mode, all the movements of the faders and knobs etc are recorded yeah? so you can view/change the exact envelopes of the movements?
one more thing - how robust is it? i do like to do the odd fader slam
thanks

For Ableton, I'd look at something like the Original X-Session...not pro, or an Evolution UC-33. Check em out.

I also own the Novation Remote SL (the Zero version)...its absolutely amazing for ableton, hands down one of the best MIDI controller's ive tried. Highly recommend it, if you can save a bit more for it.
