DEEP039 Envotion - Down There | OUT NOW !!!

Envotion - “Down There“

LABEL: DEEP RECORDS
RELEASE DATE: 21ST OF MAY 2007 (Excl. pre-release on Beatport)
CAT NR: DEEP039

1) ORIGINAL MIX
2) BJORN KAARUD MIX
3) PERRY O'NEIL MIX
4) FOUNTAIN MIX

Envotion www.myspace.com/envotion consists off 3 people, Stijn Halfens and the two brothers, Hugo and Laurence Alberts all living in the very south of Holland, that part of Holland where you have the feeling of being in another country, as if holiday has started while driving there. Maybe it’s that holiday feeling which seems to be in the air there, that is responsible of the feel good vibe of “ Down There “ their latest outing of this dutch threesome. First there was “Vessel of Poison” on Plastic Fantastic. Last year it was the massive “Hammer and Tongs“ released on DK records, also the title song for the legendary Extrema festival that got everbodies attention. Under their moniker Common Grounds they released the fierce “To Be Given” on Max Graham’s imprint Shine Music. Just recently they decided to throw that name overboard and only use Envotion as outlet for the future.

The original mix is a breathtaking approach on melody and grooves. Envotion’s rich and very well produced sound works it’s way through an almost classic arrangement of tight beats and an awesome baseline. When the break hits in it introduces a minimal melody presented with maximum effect that finds it’s way perfectly after the break. A summer track in very possible way!

New comer Bjorn Kaarud www.myspace.com/bjornkaarud from Oslo sticks close to the original, only taking a more happier route in which the melody is introduced more dominant and somewhat more uplifting. His warm sound will appeal to many for sure as expect big things from this young man.

Perry O’ Neill www.myspace.com/perryoneill takes a far more minimal approach towards the whole track. It sounds like Perry is changing a lot sound wise, coming from a more progressive trance background with countless releases on many big labels, this remix shows a more stripped back interpretation. Fresh tight beats take us on a more tetchier route, with subtle mood changes and a very dance floor minded arrangement. Big for Remy at the moment!

Last but not least is Fountain’s first release. Hailing from Holland his fresh debut is a rather different approach. Fountain who goes by the real name of Jeroen Fontein has come up with a darker and more grittier version that teases and builds before releasing the main melody. Watch this name!

C-Jay: The original version really does it for me. Great build up, tight programming, rolling basslines and a cool climax...
Stian Klo: i am loving perry's rmx, will definitely support ! original mix is also beautiful.
Eelke Kleijn: Four strong versions. Bjorn’s is my favorite. Will chart and play this !!
Oliver Moldan: Played Fountain’s mix out at WMC and Tribehouse and went down well.
Redanka: This is great in it's original form. The bassline is killer and the melody just adds the proverbial icing to a very groovy cake. Excellent. I'll be hammering this. 8/10

I'm really liking this one! The original mix is my favourite, but Perry's remix is surprisingly good as well.
