In Libanon circuleren geruchten dat de Nederlander Tijs Verwest, alias DJ Tiësto, op de dodenlijst staat van de radicaal Palestijnse islamitische beweging Fatah al-Islam die daar de laatste weken strijd levert met het Libanese leger. Tiësto geeft op 2 juli een optreden in de hoofdstad van Libanon. Zijn management is vooralsnog niet van plan het optreden in Beiroet af te zeggen.
De al jaren aan de wereldtop staande DJ gaf eerder in oktober 2005 een concert in Beiroet. Daar kwamen 16.000 mensen op af, wat een record was voor een dancefestijn in het Midden-Oosten.
Overigens zou ook zangeres Shakira doelwit zijn van Fatah al-Islam. De zangeres zou daarom een gepland concert in Libanon van haar schema hebben afgevoerd

'It started as a simple joke from people who haven't been identified yet. What happened is Ya Libnan (lebanese news website) reported the information as a serious threat to Tiesto.
It then seems that some dutch journalists found the information over the internet and it was a matter of hours before Tiesto heard that story, put the night on hold and wait for further development.
The lebanese government as well as the organizing team and sponsors are currently leading an investigation to I.D and find the people responsible in order to try and save what's left of the event.

Naja,er zijn door deze "grap" zeer waarschijnlijk meer dan genoeg van die randdebielen op grappige ideeeen gebracht dus ik zou daar alsnog niet gaan draaien.
