trance going commercial in australia ,, i dont think so,, it comes and goes like when ATB 9pm came out everyone was into this cheesy shite i dont call that trance,, when someone asks me what i listen to they will always answer with "ahhh that darude, atb style" i just laugh and give them a tiesto ,corsten cd and say thats what im on about then they usually get hooked.. ive converted many of my friends to trance and they cant get enough.. i dont think its a concern as only cheesy stuff is geting air play at the moment... Australia is not like europe,, over there its a tradition here its not.. there are to many beer drinking band lovers over here ...
the only good thing about trance breaking through would be more dj tours down here,, sure we get big names but it would be nice if some well known djs were resident djs over here ..

I wouldn't like trance to go commercial in Australia. I've always maintained that if a certain style of music were to become part of the mainstream, it would lose a certain quality about it. I don't know whether the music itself actually deteriorates to cheesy shite by being commercial; or if this is just a psychological matter, and I just think that the music is crap because it’s commercial... But, being a school student, I am exposed to many pop fiends I think quality trance would be wasted on anyway. I guess they are the people who my friends and I consider ‘beyond education’. That’s just my way of thinking though...eheh...
I’ve converted some friends to dance... but not trance, not many of them know what trance is. But, yes, when I do come across the occasional trance addict, I get quite excited.
Hmmm... yes, I can see the advantages of trance becoming more popular. Resident DJs would be brilliant!
Anyway... that’s just my point of view.

if trance goes commercial or not really makes no difference, if u like trance u like it for the music, not the scene, or the culture.
dont matter what sort of trance u listen to, if it goes commercial well hey, so ur gona here the music on the radio, if u liked the music u wont really care, but if u liked it coz it was underground, and we alll know its soooo cool to be underground, then u really dont like the music, u just like the scene.
so if ur worried about commercialism, well then, go find something else that is coooooool and underground !

never trance & underground till I die! Thank God teeny boppers have only heard of producers Darude, ATB, Sash, Iio and those poofter prodcuers Safri Duo, Kosheen.
And f*ck channel 9 and channel 7 for playing my favourite Ferry Corsten remix ie William Orbit - Barber's Adagio For Strings. And radio stations for playing the Ferry Corsten remix of Catch. ASSHOLES!
Thank God the rest of Ferry Corsten's productions are out of 13 to 16 year old's hands.
F*CK you boppers and bopper djs!

I have to say I don't agree with some of the comments made here. Why would you complain if you hear trance played on radio or for a promo on a TV station? Maybe the people who made the promo heard the track and they think it suits the ad or the program it is in. Maybe somebody who watches it thinks they like the song. Maybe they buy a cd, or they tell someone about it and they find out about the music. I heard sandstorm by darude on radio and saw it on video hits, I bought the single and guess what? I like trance music now. I bought other stuff as well. Sometimes I almost cringe when I hear songs on the radio like alligator project or something like that, because I don't particularly like it. But again, someone might think its ok, and find out there is a whole world of good music for them to listen too! I don't really agree with making any kind of music just for money or fame, not because you are expressing something or trying to tell how you feel but at the same time it seems to me that there are people clinging to a security blanket of being 'underground' and proud that you are into a kind of music that isn't as popular as well... pop music. I mean how do people say things like its shit if its on radio or commercialism is bad, have you always liked trance? Have you always known about it? Did you find out about it and love it, and now what? Its like you are trying to stop others from loving it too! I think I'm running out of steam here and words to type, but I hope I've got my message across!!
