Smiley DJ Beginner Decks

I just wanna start DJing and everyone is telling me to get Technics Mk2's. But I will never have enough money! Can you please tell me some good turntables that would be under about $1000 american for 2. I found some relatively cheap American DJ ones. They were about $300 each. Are they any good for a begginer? Cause I just want some DECKS!!

well it sez ur in australia... soo $1000 american is approx $2000 australian.. which is more than plenty for mk2's

if u went second hand u could even get a very fine mixer to go with it

ive seen pairs of second hand 1200s for $1200 australian

I own a pair of Denon DP DJ-101's. They're not as costly as Techs, and they are serving me well.

Stanton STR8-80:
US $250 EACH
http://hollywooddj.com/stantonstr880.html

Gemini PT-2410
US $240 EACH
http://hollywooddj.com/geminipt2410.html

Vestax PDX - A1s
US $300 EACH
http://hollywooddj.com/vestaxpdxa1s.html

Or if you want some cheap decks(but pretty good), you can check these out:
Stanton STR8-60
US $180
http://hollywooddj.com/stantonstr860.html

Gemini SA-600
US $190
http://hollywooddj.com/geminisa600.html

1. Choose a pair of decks that you want
2. Go to www.123dj.com
3. Find the same decks(they will probably be cheaper)
4. Go to www.hollywooddj.com
5. Ask www.hollywooddj.com to beat 123dj's price(they will also give you a $25 discount)

PS. If you can't buy techs, I would recomend Stanton STR8-80, really good TTs

Peace

Hey Ash give us a better price range ... u said you can't afford techs but ya have 1k to spend on decks. www.123dj.com has mk2's for $399each. Just go to www.hollywooddj.com (as mentioned before) and they will cost ya like $375. Plus you can get Ortofon Concorde DJ cartridges and still be under $1000. This is the route I would go unless you are talking about only having $1000 for everything.

dont waste ur time with other tables.....they are right get technic 1200s... the reason is if you want to be a serious dj ....its better to learn on 1200s and in the long run youll have to gewt 1200s anyway.... so i say save up and spend for 1200s... rather then be inpatient and getting geminis or what and waste ur money to learn on shitty tables

just buy some cheap direct-drives, like gemini xl 500.
through buying 2 cheap TT's you will learn the best technic.
You have to buy the technics sooner or later also if you continue DJing. And if you decide to sell your TT you don't have spent that much money for more expensive TT's.
You also save money for maybe technics, if you decide to go on with DJing, or some vinyl.
so buy the gemini xl 500, it's the best in TT in his class in my opinion

The Gemini PT2410's are very good value for US$240.. but they are like AU$1000 here.. haha

Good options are the Denon DP-101's (AU$600) or the Denon DP-151 (AU$800) and the Stanton STR-80 (AU$800)

The Denon DP-101 is good value
