I can't give a definition on trance......i just feel....it is superbly crafted music with synths and b-lines that just is a cut above other genres.

These are from Dictionary.com

A hypnotic, cataleptic, or ecstatic state.

Detachment from one's physical surroundings, as in contemplation or daydreaming.

A semiconscious state, as between sleeping and waking; a daze.

A state in which the soul seems to have passed out of the body into another state of being, or to be rapt into visions; an ecstasy.

Medical: A condition, often simulating death, in which there is a total suspension of the power of voluntary movement, with abolition of all evidences of mental activity and the reduction to a minimum of all the vital functions so that the patient lies still and apparently unconscious of surrounding objects, while the pulsation of the heart and the breathing, although still present, are almost or altogether
imperceptible

a psychological state induced by (or as if induced by) a magical incantation [syn: enchantment, spell] 2: a state of mind in which consciousness is fragile and voluntary action is poor or missing; a state resembling deep sleep

trance (Gr. ekstasis, from which the word "ecstasy" is derived) denotes the state of one who is "out of himself." Such were the trances of Peter and Paul, Acts 10:10; 11:5; 22:17, ecstasies, "a preternatural, absorbed state of mind preparing for the reception of the vision", (comp. 2 Cor. 12:1-4). In Mark 5:42 and Luke 5:26 the Greek word is rendered "astonishment," "amazement" (comp. Mark 16:8; Acts 3:10).

wtf?
so ur doing an essay on trance?

on what the evolution and development of trance? or just trances in general? - let me know ive got some stuf on how repetitive beats and rhythms that are looped can send clubbers into a dream-like state, where all thoughts and brain activity are temporarily reduced.

i guess my 'temporary reduction' was permanent.
