i hav just cdj200s and a djm400 mixer... i am pretty sure i have wired them correctly. why is there no sound coming out through headphones or speakers?! i dot think the mixer has realised that it has cdjs plugged into it.....

Did you plug your mixers into the RIGHT ports? You're supposed to plug the RCA cables into LINE and NOT PHONO. It's a common mistake if you did that.

Plus: have you set the switches at the top to CD input? If they're on 'phono', you won't get any sound either.
man they are! ill double check but! im definetly not that dumb with electronics....

Trace the signal through - are you getting levels showing up on your mixer?

headphone volume? different RCA/digital cables?
if you have an ipod or any other device that plays audio, try setting it up to ur mixer.. if it doesn't work then its probably the mixer.. but are u sure u have the cables going in the right ports?

since you are a new owner I'll suggest firstly that you have read your manuals! sounds like you've checked your connections appropriately but make sure your gains arent turned down, if you've set your input switches to line and are hooked up appropriately this woudl be the only cause. gl.
btw: you can also connect a pair of phones to your cdj's to see if its a mechanical problem with them.
