Chamillionaire - Hip Hop Police/Evening News

This artist won a grammy last year for his single Ridin' featuring Krayzie Bone and I brushed him off as just another come and go rapper, but after giving him the benefit of the doubt this new single Hip Hop Police is actually a great track. It talks about how the media blames hip hop for a lot of the social problems (i.e. violence, materialism, etc) that happen in our culture and how he wants to talk about the important issues affecting our society too but nobody takes him seriously because of the type of music he choses to express himself with -in this case hip hop. It was a real eye opener and I invite all of you to see this video. If you hate hip hop/rap altogether then kindly skip on over to another thread.

Hip Hop Police: it's hard to take social commentary seriously with such a club friendly beat.
it also contained the lyrics "i'm rich"

No. Nobody takes him seriousely because he's a terrible commercial hip-hop rapper. There are plenty of hip hop artists that do get taken seriousely - real hip hop artists - not crappy knockoffs watered down to appeal to 14 year old white kids in suburbia.

That was not meaningful social commentary.

Chamillionaire built up quite the rep on the mixtape circuit, and definitely has plenty of underground cred to backup his current fame.

However, we ALL know he truly exploded on the scene when Weird Al Yankovic parodied him in White And Nerdy.

I couldn't believe that they won a grammy for that ridin song, i thought the track was shit and Chamillionary is one of the many new artists that have been killing hip hop for the past since the turn of the century. I can't stand his flow and shit lyrics.
