That's a lot of questions Jah

I don't own Ortofon carts but I would say that the antiskate and counterweight settings I recommended in my other thread should suffice. You either have to ground the tables to the mixer if you own one or you will have to ground it to the amp you fixed your tables to. The stylus should be cleaned often with a soft brush, and all it takes to maintain your turntables is to prevent dust from getting in there. Your slipmat should move together with the platter when you hold the record down so I reckon some whooshing sound due to friction is inevitable. Just try to be gentle with it!

For setting up the tonearm etc, see sig.

For grounding the table, what the hell are you doing trying to connect it to a wall socket??!? How are you listening to vinyls at the moment? If you are just connecting the turntable to an amp, then hopefully you are connecting it to a phono input. If this is the case, then the amp will have a ground terminal, so you can use that. If your amp doesn't have a phono input (and it must say PHONO on it) then you'll just have to wait until you get that mixer!

by the way with the ortofon cartridges if i put the weight to 3 that seems like its putting way too much pressure on the vinyl it seems to hold still at about 1

3 is a little too much IMHO; scratchers use 3.

I explained my method there.

The weight you put on the needle also depends greatly on your spinning style. If you are a plain mixer that uses pitch riding to beatmatch (no touching the platter or record to correct), no need to put huge amounts of weight. But if you are more an active performer (scratches, spinbacks etc) then you'll probably need more weight, because you'll be actively working on the vinyl, causing more chance to make the needle jump.
