Well I currently use Serato Scratch, however tomorrow night I need to take my tracks on a USB flash drive and upload them to be used on Traktor Scratch with a Macbook...

I want to know a few things...

1. Once i upload my track will i be able to sort the tracks by 'filename'... and not just artist/track?

2. What is the keyboard shortcut to load tracks on each of the decks?

3. If you have used Serato... is it similar to Traktor Scratch? Is there anything I should be aware of that significantly differs? How can I zoom in/out of the waveform which is shown for the deck?

4. Do you have any useful tips/suggestions... my main concern is speed as I am using turntables at the club, and I want to have as MUCHH time as possible to beatmatch and get my tracks straight, so if you could offer some tips in aspect of keeping things speedy that would be awesome

thanks a bunch for any help!

1) Yes.
2) Just like SSL, CTRL+left/right arrow to load songs.
3) Similar, yes, although I much prefer SSL. You can zoom in on the waveform in TS by hitting the + and - buttons on the waveform itself (not the keyboard keys like in SSL). Although there's only 3 zoom levels in TS, not nearly as good as SSL, although TS has much better (i.e. larger) complete waveform overview.
4) I would suggest analyzing your files first in Traktor. Just like in SSL you have to build overviews on your files, TS has to analyze your files in a similar way. Like SSL, it's not entirely necessary, but recommended so it doesn't have to do it in real time when you load the song, which increases CPU load, could possibly cause dropouts, blah blah, etc, just like in SSL.

Also I wouldn't recommend actually playing the tracks off the USB flash drive, copy them over to the computer's internal drive before playing.

Also here's Skratchwork's review of Traktor Scratch, gives a good run down of most the the stuff in the GUI and browser, give it a read if you want...

Awesome thank you so much,

and also, does Traktor have those beatmatching waveforms as well (The ones Serato has which shows if beats are aligned)?
