The station started out in the 80s as a representative of the Gay & Lesbian community. At the time FG stood for funk & Gay.
They went Underground House in the 90s, but towards the late 90s they started to mainstream. At the same time, a growing number of major French DJs started having their own shows at the station.
Nowadays its DJ lineup is international, and is just HUGE. It's even bigger then stations like BBC Radio 1. They are very highly regarded by most of the big DJs, straight or gay.
People need to remember that this is a TERRESTRIAL radio station, one that people can actually pick up on FM and not just online.
They cume about half a million listeners a week, which means they're pretty influential. That's far more then di.fm, or proton radio, or any net-only Dance station.
Go ahead, take a look at the lineup of Kiss 100 London (which cumes a million and a half people per week), or Galaxy 105 in the Sheffield-Leeds area (close to a million listeners)

Galaxy and Kiss have great ratings, and lineups that are good, but not as good as Radio FG.
What about Flaix FM Spain, Slam FM Holland, Topradio Belgium, Sunshine Live Germany, or M2O Italy? All have a large cume, but none of them have the kind of ratings or lineup as Radio FG.
I'm giving you facts here, not spam.
