Hey Jah take heart. I gave up a large part of my life to get these babies. I have never had the intention of being the next PvD; in fact I've never even played in front of any crowd, large or small, before. But the love of the music keeps me going. I consider all this money well spent because I am experiencing something that non-trance believers can never get to experience- the thrill of playing the best kind of music in the world.

Hey, just think of it as an expensive hobby! Some people like to go snowboarding or something, that costs a shitload of money. We like to DJ, which also costs a shitload of money. That's the way it is!

As cost o living goes, vynil is so much cheaper here in the UK than back in South Africa.

A track in SA is currently going for R120 (about £9.40), but doing a cost of living conversion:

1 Mcmeal in SA = R20, therefore 1 vynil = 6 Mcmeals
1 Mcmeal in UK = £4, therefore 1 vynil = 1.8 Mcmeals

Imagine that UK vynils cost £25 each, thats how is goes in SA!

Yeah man, I get bummed when I look at my crate and see all the long-gone dollar signs, but if spinning makes you happy you are really making out ahead of the game. $20 for a 30 rack of beer every weekend is gonna make you fat and kill brain cells. $50 for an eighth of bud is gonna make you dumb. As people said, skiing & snowboarding is almost a grand to get into just to buy equipment. A round of golf costs you $30 a pop plus lost golf balls and the initial several hundred dollars to get your equipment... and then clothing too. Everything costs money, just be thankful what you're spending it on makes you happy.
