Just heard Robert Miles - Children on some random youtube video and was curious what happened to this type of style of trance. It was such an awesome song when i first started listening to trance.
I listen to it now and think its so original compared to all the DJs. What happened to this style and curious if other people liked it back then or even now?

What a good trackk wasn't one of its main purposes is that robert miles would end his sets with that song so it would calm the people and cause less car accidents or something ? something of the sort im pretty sure.

no, i'm pretty sure it has something to do with a child molestation fetish that mr. miles has. go figure, with the title and all.

I liked Robert Miles "Children" back in the day..it was nice and upbeat....nothing to be taken too seriously but definitely had that "dream" quality to it where the "dream trance" genre got it's name. But I think there's plenty of melodic trance out there that would be considered (to me at least) dream-like.

Genre-Shmonre... Dream trance is just a label! There's dreamy crap in many forms of music ... except maybe hardstyle, but I could be wrong.
If it is really so special... I am definately not the biggest trance enthusiast, but how come dream trance seems to be a genre only whacked off by Mr. Miles? Seriously, I don't think anyone else produced it, until someone more informed posts a lengthy track list. Maybe it should have been called "New Age" trance... ha! Not entirely a diss, since I liked parts of the Dreamland album... but still...
Children? Yeah, I like it. It's not my top 10, but it has a historical heirloom feel to it.
