Laptop mixing

So whats the best program to use for mixing with ur laptop....i mean of cours eim sure some people will say ableton live...is that a duel purpose program...used for making music and or mixing??? just wanted to hear from people who actually use or have used it/experience with it....ill be getting a djm-800 within the week, i dont want to completely just stop using my turntables if i hook my laptop up...so can u just incoporate everything together, or do you think me using a mixing program as such, can easly pul me away from manual turntables, and into the laptop mixing world?

If you just want to have a quick go at things and test it out for free, check out Beatport Synch. It's basically Traktor DJ studio slimmed down, but with a Beatport skin.

Just to be clear, I believe he needs them for a Mac

I'm sure most of the programs have dual support (Mac/Windows) like Ableton Live and stuff.

Ableton Live does have a sequencing component to it...great program when used properly.

I don't perform so I couldn't speak to that...it's a good tool in the lab, though.

On a side note does anyone know how and what equipment you need to hook up Tracktor or any of these Dj progs to a real mixer so i don't have to use a mouse but yet will have both channels come out of the laptop i'm thinking a dual soundcard ??
