I'm reviving this thread against my best judgement.
I listen to his music. Wow. I said it.
It starts off simple. You're making a mix CD for your girlfriend, she's into him, you start browsing through iTunes, getting a track or two...
Then you stumble upon them on your computer a few weeks later and put them on while studying too. Mindless background music, you tell yourself...
Then you're out at the pub and one of his songs come on and you realize you know the lyrics and are tapping your foot underneath the table, desperately hoping no one notices...
Next think you know, you're back at your place, it's Friday night. 3AM. 4 Drinks more than you should have. Drunk iTunes shopping. "I already have a couple of these tracks, and they're not too bad--might as well just buy the album." Seems like a sensible idea at that point.
And that's how you buy a John Mayer album.
