A new year dawns....

Windmill Sessions returns for 2008 with more chilled, thoughtful melodic sets (and new picture!). This set is perhaps a little darker in tone than previous work overall, and I would love to hear any opinions guys! Roll on the track descriptions...

Dark ambience greets the listener, slowly melodic whispers reveal themselves before melting away once more...
Miika Kuisma-Trying My New Wings
Distinctive atmospheric breakbeat, with a stirring and enigmatic melodic lead. Wonderful work from Kuisma's new album.
11.8-Sunrise
After the ominous opening the set lightens with the aptly named "Sunrise", as the warm melodious air washes over. Bouncey and blissful is how I'd describe this!
Micah-Greenstone
From the blissful melodies to the melancholic. "Greenstone" entices the listener with its guitar licks and deep atmosphere.
Stereok-Deep Desire (arthur deep erised mix)
Mysterious and beautiful, a reductive track that produces the goods after many a listen. A good precurssor to the next track also.
Cream Sound-New Friday (mango remix)
The first genuinely "happy" track of the mix synth-stabs rhythmically into being. The cut-up vocals are interspersed beautifully and, well, its a Mango production, need I say more!
Cbass+Mikobene-Terens Ferenz
From light to dark, the transition to the deeper, more driving section begins now. A perculiar track which carries the listener along its darkening path with wobbling melodies and distinctive percussion.
Christian Paduraru-Express Yourself (michael+levan remix)
Driving, atmospheric prog slowly reveals itself. Minimal in its delivery, but powerful in its impact with lovely layered melodic hints and ambience.
The Defender Droids-Boxing Day
Feet-moving basslines announce the arrival of this track. A great sense of atmosphere is conveyed throughout, with the first mildly-euphoric moment as the tune drops after a moving break.
Masque-Foresta
What sounds like classic old-skool sounding driving prog now. Technical competence is exhibited by Masque as he creates something emotional, funky, atmospheric and danceable.
Ariel Curtis-Escape Of Sound (michael+levan remix)
The pace continues as more dark, progressive is revealed, under-pinned by the hinted promise of trancy melodies.
Ferdy+Matt Van Wyk-I Am Guilty
Deep, smooth progressive trance begins your journey out of the darkness. Samlped vocals allow recognition while the melodies consume all after the break.
4Mal ft. Gliss-Time Is Burning
Big distinctive bass runs alongside thoughtful vocals as the set gears up for its conclusion with bucketloads of energy.
Shifted Reality-Fuerte (solesystem remix)
Retro latin-influenced throbbing sparkly trance, or something akin!
James Zabiela-Perseverance
A genuinely refreshing track to bring the mix to its culmination. You are able to lose yourself in this one as it builds to a suitably epic conclusion.
