On the original 1993 release of this track, there were four mixes included: North, East, South and West. I've not heard any of them. However, when the track was remixed and re-released in 2002, one of the mixes was entitled "Original Mix".
My question to the esteemed and knowledgable members of TA is: is this Original Mix one of the four mixes on the original release, and if not, when was it made?
I can't answer your question but thank you for bringing this track back into my radar. Brilliant effort.

Yes north = original mix but it was reworked for the 2002 reissue which is why 'original mix' is about 35 seconds longer than 'north'. The changes aren't anything dramatic but just subtle tweaks and adjustments.

The first time i heard the Tarantella vs Redanka remix in 2002 on Sasha & Digweed EM, i thought "this is the best track of year". Really great remix. not heard the original though...

I suppose it's customary for me to ramble on about the Fluke remix being great and so on, and so on...

There's a video of North Version (not really a video) at the classic EDM videos thread posted a couple of days ago. Check it out.
Tarantella vs Redanka version is nice, but it's somehow unnecessary, since the original (North) is pretty much perfect and they couldn't upgrade it that much (and it's made almost 10 years after the original). This situation is kinda similar to Binary Finary - 1998 (Binarys Finality Mix). Yeah, it's good, but they couldn't improve it that much and the end result is blah, since PVD made a superb version 8 years before this remix...
The only difference is that Compass Error is more underground, and a lot of people didn't heard that Nort version. Again, if you haven't there's an almost full version of it on Digweed's Rennaisance 2 Mix (he closed his second cd with it), or check out that classic EDM videos thread

The Fluke mix is the only one I've heard all the way through, and I like it a lot. The way it gets all floaty in the breakdown and then the driving bassline comes in... lovely.
wow! what a piece of music! i've never heard it before, seeing I was 8 years old when it was released, but damn I need to hunt down that vinyl soon! and the newer remixes aren't bad either
