If I buy a compilation, for example Psychedelic Academy mixed by Astrix, I know I can legally rip those tracks has personnal backup, or even download them from illegal sites and play them out, because I own the original.
But would it be legally acceptable to get the FULL version of the tracks via for example illegal download sites, and play them out at gigs ? I mean, I paid for the compilation with those tracks on it, but am I legally entitled only to play those exact edit versions of the tracks ??

well, as far as I know, you can download mp3s that you have an original copy of the track, even if it's from an illegal source

LOL! What have happened to TA lately? Have all the lemmings from trance.nu flooded over here?
Supposing you you bought the tracks and let's say - left them at home, I think downloading them via another means is morally perfectly acceptable.
Legally however, probably not.

you're legally entitled to make an exact copy of what you own. when you download the full versions, you're obtaining different versions rather than exact copies, so no. morality is the only thing in dispute here

if you own the vinyl & want to get a higher quality cd rip, perhaps?
again not legal, since it's a different copy to what you could make yourself. whether it's morally acceptable or not depends on who you ask though
