I get these daily missives. Today's was rather amusing/interesting.

The vote on each of the states was close -- eight to seven. Thus, Hayes became the Prez, with 185 votes to Tilden's 184. Just one more Electoral Vote than needed.

I know that some of those filters have been around for a long, long time. They don't like "faggots" either.

As long as they aren't out of control, I don't mind them. I've seen a few boards where you can even normally write words like "drape" because they don't like the word "rape." Cunt does not seem to show up as part of another word very often, and neither does fucker. So it doesn't tend to cause any real problems.

Still, I find that the knowledge that the filters there makes me ever-so-slightly more inclined to use the words that are filtered. Funny how that works.

Historical lesson learned - Republicans always win the tiebreakers.
