| quote: | Ah, I know it's still more work but I hear it's overall more fun. I don't plan on to a very hardcore college either. I have problems getting organized and I procrastinate too much. If I can fix these things by college it will be better. I'm really plagued with these problems now and its hard to fix them.

well, its more fun until you realize that you need to get your act together and study... but in general i think its safe to say (this isnt meant to sound patronizing at all) that once you get to college you look back and realize how easy high school really was.. tho at the time, high school did seem difficult.
i procrastinate also, i have the same problem.. it took me two years to fix it at college, by that time i had fucked around too much, had too much "fun" so i had gotten behind in my classes, now, ill be lucky if i graduate in 5 years total (computer science major), and ive finally realized that school has to be the #1 thing in my life and my social life is on the side.
its a crappy lesson to learn... so it would be good if you could pick up those skills now, youll save yourself a lot of trouble at a university

Re: Is it fair to say that life sux?

Got a question for you all: is it ok to say that your life sucks even though there are many people who have it worse than you?
My situation:
I'm a junior in high school now and it's really too much to handle. I also have a part time job. I have so many damn tests and homework assignments to do plus my job (which is 2 days during the school week btw), that I have hardly any free time during the day. I go out on the weekend but I'm so stressed from the week and stressed about next week that I'm still unhappy. To say the least, I'm really unhappy at the moment.
I was also planning on asking this girl to my prom but decided not to because it's much too expensive. I figured I would then probably ask her out pretty soon. Unfortunetly someone I know decided to take her to the prom and will probably then date her.
I was in Germany in February and met this really cool girl. We hung out and I even kissed her. I didn't want to get into much because I was there for only three weeks. She will be coming here in October for three weeks as well. I was hoping to hang out with her then and maybe have a little something going but not much cause once again, its only three weeks. Anyway, today she tells me in an email she has a boyfriend and was sorry that she was leading me into something with her. Now plans are fucked up for October.
I could go on with more problems but that's about it. Sure, I know everyone else has problems but I needed to get that out.
BACK TO THE TOPIC: Is it ok when you're in this kind of situation to say that life sucks? I know there's people who have so much harder for me. The whole thing is that I know life will get better for me...the Summer is close and I will be outta this whole thing then but nevertheless, life sucks at the moment.
FEEL FREE TO POST YOUR OWN PROBLEMS AS WELL |
That's a shame about the German girl. About the assignments and tests: Do these FIRST, obviously! I care more about my education then almost ANYTHING in my life! When it comes to school/tests/assignments, I do my best, no matter HOW LONG IT TAKES! This seems to be why my social life is almost non-existant, because I don't care about it more than my education. The people that ask "how are you having fun", etc., are the same ones who don't care AT ALL and are getting low test scores. In others words, if you don't pay attention to what really matters in your life, it's harder to get ahead.

dude... after going through the radio program at the college here... i can honestly say that i could do what you're going through right now standing on my head...
i've been through it and i can say it sucks at the time, but looking back on that now after college, it's so miniscule in terms or what i had to go through...
life is a series of challenges, you have to take each one, prioritize, and tackle each one in pieces
so sit down, write a list even, and figure out what you have to do, how you can do it, and in what order you take on those challenges
