Newbie - hello board - Can anyone advise?

Right I got into trance back in 1999 - I got out of dnb because it was become so, lets say paint by numbers!!

Trance or progressive house back then was great the tunes had progression -

Sasha - Xpander
Nautious - Amber
Chicane - Saltwater
Ambassador - The Fade

The tunes just built and built

But now the trance is becoming all a bit just get the drop and thats it... now dont get me wrong I love a good discover tune or Sean Tyas and the like BUT where is the progressive trance -

Can anyone recommend some artists/ labels???

Cheers Lost in '99 (Ha Ha)

Redroche - Open Your Eyes

On the very trancey side of prog house. One of the few tracks left of this style that really grab my attention.

progressive trance wise check out

http://www.discogs.com/label/Tribal+Vision
http://www.discogs.com/label/Iboga+Records

for good upbeat trance try

http://www.discogs.com/label/Propulsion+Records

and also search out labels like subtraxx & j00f for good trance now. The first 2 labels I mentioned should open you up to a lot of sounds and artists, pretty much follow them and you should have fun

Check out psy/goa trance
recomended:
Infected mushroom
Afghin
Astral Projection
Etnica
D.N.A.
Shiva Chandra
The Delta

Might be bi est in this respect but... it seems Drum 'n' Bass is practically the only genre thats gotten better post 2000 (mainstream trance has been not so good since 1995 really).

jungle/d&b has had many peaks and troughs in it's quality. the early 90s were quality, from 97-2002 it went a bit boring and predictable and in the last couple of years it's been really good again.
